Freezing fog for 5 days and nights created hoarfrost crystals clinging to the trees and making an already snowy landscape into a winter wonderland. Hoarfrost is a deposit of needle-like ice crystals formed on the ground by direct condensation at temperatures below freezing point. This pastoral scene is near Ellensburg, Washington

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I've been a professional photographer for 30+ years. My degree is in microbiology and I did research work in that field for 3 years which sounds glamourous and exciting but in reality I found it to be repetitive and uninspiring. It does explain my interest in the tiny world and my desire to understand how things work. I've always said I could be a professional student as I love to learn new things and photography certainly does provide that opportunity.
