Description
Using extreme shallow depth of focus creates a soft image with only the small edge of the petal in sharp focus. Perfect light illuminates the petal from behind and accents the texture of the petal and the ruffles at the edge of it. Tulip Petal Curl is a colorful study of shades of red being mixed with white creating pink veins and even a couple of white veins. The light glistening at the top of the curl adds a third dimension. This image is another in my series of macro closeups called ColorBlur that are more about the beauty and artistic composition created deep within a flower than about what a tulip looks like.
