Description
Early Morning Dogwood by Mary Jo Allen catches several short lived moments. The "flower" is actually the cluster of small green buds in the center. Just before fully opening the large petals or bracts form a delicate covering over the flower. This stage doesn't last long before the bracts open up flat to create the dogwood blossom we usually see. Of course, the other short lived moment is the morning dew and the warmth of the first ray of sun create a magical moment.
